Donald Murray's Writing Process

Do Now: Look over the outline excerpt and create subheading words or phrases for each group of evidence.

Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to use the evidence I have for big ideas to draft subheadings.

I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can observe patterns among the examples I have grouped according to big ideas.
-I can choose an organizational method for subheadings that makes the most sense for the evidence I have selected.

Agenda:
  1. More patterns of organization
  2. Sample Outline
  3. Conferences continued
  4. Exit Ticket: I'm having trouble with...

HW: Using the primary and secondary source evidence you've grouped according to the three big ideas in your thesis map, look for patterns and come up with three subheadings per big idea (remember: the big outline is due 11 March!).
