"You can check out any time you like, but you can never leave." |
Using one of the suggested songs (or one that you select), consider a connection it has to existentialism or No Exit.
Today's Learning Target:
I will be able to explore the setting and the symbols in the play and connect Sartre's choices to existentialist ideas (the absurd, existence precedes essence, choice, responsibility, etc.).
I will know that I have hit the learning target when...
-I can describe important features of the setting and the objects used as symbols.
-I can explain how at least one of the symbols or elements of the setting connects to an existentialist idea.
Agenda:
- Existentialism in Popular Song
- Setting and Symbolism in No Exit
- Continuing the play
- No exit ticket: Which existentialist concept is most clearly addressed in the play so far? How so?
HW: Begin searching for more secondary sources. They needn't address just one of your primary sources.
